The festive season is just around the corner, and that means we will be spending more time with friends and family and possibly attending more parties than usual. All this is exciting, but it can also make us feel pressured about our appearance. While the media might try to tell us otherwise, there is no need to spend lots of money on new clothes or to throw ourselves into a harsh diet and exercise regime. Whether you are planning to attend lots of parties or you just want to feel as positive as possible for family celebrations, here are some simple tips to help you look and feel your best this festive season.

Get plenty of sleep

We have all heard of ‘beauty sleep’, but it is more than a saying. When we are sleep deprived, our minds and bodies do not have the time or resources to function and repair themselves. This leads to fatigue, stress, dull and tired skin, puffy eyes with dark circles, and a weakened immune system. You should be aiming for at least 8 hours of sleep each night.

Stay hydrated

Like sleep, water is something that we need to function at our best. If we wait until we feel thirsty to drink water, we have waited too long, and our bodies will be battling dehydration. Being well hydrated leads to clearer skin, a brighter complexion, healthier hair and nails, a more efficient metabolism, and improved cognitive function.

Maintain a good posture

Lots of people do not realize that they are usually slouching. This can lead to painful back problems, accumulation of stress in the body, and it can also make us appear larger than we really are. Try to straighten your back as often as you can, whether you are standing up or sitting down, and you will instantly look slimmer, more alert, and more confident.

Keep on top of personal grooming

While it might seem a simple suggestion, busy people can often let their personal hygiene slip to the bottom of the list, especially if they have young children. Showering regularly, looking after your oral hygiene, and applying moisturizers or anti-wrinkle creams will lift your mood and can even make you more productive. Consider taking advantage of some parfum Black Friday deals and get yourself a beautiful scent for use on a daily basis and/or for special occasions.

Smile more

One of the simplest things a person can do to improve their mood – and the moods of the people around them – is to smile. It can be easy to walk around with a frown and not even realize it, but this will make you less approachable and less attractive to others.

Choose clothes in the right colors

You may not realize it, but some colors are more suited to your skin tone and hair color than others. It is important to choose colors that you like and that suit your body shape, but some colors will compliment you while others might wash you out. Click here to find out which colors suit you best.
