Feeling good about yourself and being happy in your own skin can be tough to do sometimes. You may find yourself comparing your life to others instead of looking at all the blessings you do have, for example.

Instead, know that there are actions you can take that will help you better yourself and help you keep your head up. The following tips will help you feel great about yourself so you can keep a smile on your face and keep your confidence high.


Write Down & Review Your Accomplishments

Start by reviewing your accomplishments in life so far. Think back about all you’ve done and all you’ve achieved thus far. Write these down on paper so that you can review them often and you can remind yourself about what you’ve done in life already. You will then start to believe in yourself more and know that you can get ahead if you put your mind to it. The more often you do this the more likely it is that you’ll be able to overcome your insecurities and do things you never dreamed you’d do in life.


Update Your Looks

Feel confident and great about yourself by updating your looks. It doesn’t have to be a complete makeover but at least make a few improvements based on what you don’t like about your appearance. Another tip to help you feel great about yourself is to rework your wardrobe and the makeup you choose to wear. Your clothes are a reflection of yourself and you are giving off a certain vibe to the world based on what you’re wearing. Don’t be afraid to clean out your closet and get rid of or donate clothing items that you don’t like or that don’t fit you well. This way you will go to your closet and love everything in it instead of feeling like you have nothing to wear. This can take time so don’t feel like you need to go out and purchase all the new clothes at once.

If you want to feel great about yourself then you need to get exercise regularly. It can instantly boost your mood and you’ll discover that you start to lose weight if that is your goal. There are many different activities to choose from so participate in those that put a smile on your face. Working out can be fun if you have the right kind of music on and exercise at a gym or with other people in a group class. The more exercise the better since it is great for your mind and body. Forgive Yourself

Remind yourself daily that everyone makes mistakes and no one is perfect. Learn to forgive yourself for things you may regret. Once you do then stop thinking about them and move on with your life. It can be challenging to do but learning to do so will bring you great benefits. Use Mistakes for Pushing Forward

Once you do forgive yourself then use your mistakes as a way to do better in the future. Use them to help push you forward into new levels of growth. You’ll be amazed at the places you can go and things you can do and see when you learn to let your past live in your past. Instead, live in the present moment by practicing mindfulness and look to the future with bright and hopeful eyes. Once you learn to overcome obstacles that try to stand in your way then you will see yourself soar to new heights of success and happiness.


Spend Time with Good People

If you want to feel great about yourself then spend time with good and nice people. Remove the toxic people and influences from your life so you can flourish. You’ll start to see who really cares for you and is in your corner and who is not if you have a discerning eye. Treat others the way you want to be treated and it will go a long way in helping you to fix and improve your life. Think about all areas of your life such as work, personal life, and even where you choose to workout or dine. Make sure that you choose wisely and that the people you keep in your life are respectful and courteous as well as have your back and are in your corner.

Avoid Pessimistic Self-Talk

Another top tip to help you feel great about yourself is to avoid pessimistic self-talk. This can be quite difficult to do especially if it’s all you know or are used to doing. Challenge thoughts and emotions and let them come and then pass by. Instead, you can smile in the mirror and tell yourself how awesome you are and list off all your special and unique traits and characteristics. This can be a tough process but one that is well worth doing if you want to live the life you always dreamed of. Stop waiting for tomorrow or another day and start living for today and be in the now.
