the heart of one of the world's most vibrant cities, just steps away
from the famous Union Square, Hotel Diva is perfect for both business

The space, the design,
the details – everything about Hotel Diva is modern, sleek, and
incredibly stylish. So is the founder of Personality Hotels, Yvonne Lembi-Detert, who we had the pleasure to meet and interview* during our stay in San Francisco. Her passion for the hospitality industry, for interior design, and for life in general is admirable and contagious.

HISTORY
What strikes you first about Hotel Diva is its unique architecture. Constructed in 1915, this building originally housed the Somerton Hotel, which was home to many returning World War II soldiers. Personality Hotels purchased the building in the mid-1980s and converted it into the Hotel Diva, which opened in 1985.
DESIGN
Hotel Diva was originally designed by renowned Architect/Designer T. Olle Lundberg, San Francisco-based Edmonds & Lee Architects completed a $2 million renovation in winter 2011. Sleek tones of charcoal grey and rich plum create a theatrical backdrop for custom-designed black and white furnishings.
Pablo Pardo lighting accentuates the abstract geometrical carpeting and casts comforting glows on Diva's signature steel headboards. Bathed in a palette of crisp white, newly designed bathrooms will boast a custom wall design and new floor tile that resembles Brazilian hardwood floors.

GUEST ROOMS
All guest rooms feature 36” flat screen televisions with satellite service, “Sound Soother” IPod alarm clocks, windows dressed in shades printed with two dramatic images - one of a woman’s curvaceous form in a lacy corset and thigh-high fishnet stockings and another of shapely legs in heels.
Calm color palette allows you to relax and unwind without any distractions. Having a comfortable bed and ultra-soft luxurious linens is the best form of pampering and provides a good night's sleep after a busy day in town.
DIVA LOUNGES
Four cutting-edge Diva Lounges, styled by San Francisco’s hottest artists and designers, offer guests an inspirational space for brainstorming, meeting with a friend or colleague, checking emails or simply unwinding after a long day.
From a bubble chandelier cascading, to a couture dress suspended from the ceiling, each lounge has its own unique style and personality. Lounges include: the LeeQuen Lounge, the Pablo Lighting, the Perrier Sparkling Water Lounge and the Design Within Reach Lounge. All of the lounges are open 24-hours a day.

- Standing floor mirror (perfect for trying your clothes on)
- Fashionable bathrobes (that fit perfectly even if you are very slim)
- Makeup remover (such a great idea!)
- Bright all-white bathroom (excellent lighting for doing your makeup)
- Elegant color palette (black & white, silver, grey, purple)
- Ultra comfortable bed (that's so important!)
- Unique window shades (a fashionable touch)
- Eye-catching hotel exterior (so different than other buildings in this area)
- Central location (walking distance to shops, art galleries, and restaurants)
- Fitness center (so you can keep fit even when you travel)
- Free sake served every night (a good excuse to socialize with other hotel guests)
