CAPE TOWN - The awaited release of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town (MBFWCT17) designer schedule marks the return of Fashion Week to the Mother City, at Salt River Studios, on Friday the 7th and Saturday the 8th of April 2017.

Following the postponement that was announced on the 24th of March, designers who missed out on an opportunity to unveil their latest collections, will get their due on the returning MBFWCT17 runway. A total of 43 designers are expected to showcase.

The new schedule, which was shared with all the designers earlier this week, is set to take place over the course of two days, packed with high-octane shows by local and Pan-African designers, such as Carducci, Stefania Morland, Craig Port, Laduma Ngxokolo, Taibo Bacar and Ituen Basi, along with a slew of exciting first-time brands.

All designers have been ensured that their show slot costs will be waived, and flights and accommodation would be covered by African Fashion International.

With such a strong and exciting lineup of Pan-African designers, audiences can look forward to a sartorial fusion of household and emerging brands.

Fashion aficionados can stand a chance to immerse themselves in the best of African fashion through a nationwide competition that will be run on the The Times, Weekend Argus, and News 24, from the 1st of April.

To see whose collections will be parading down the multinational runway, the designer schedule will be made available on the AFI website and on social media.
