Have you ever seen a home decorated so perfectly that you wished it was yours? With so many beautiful homes we see on TV and in magazines, there are a lot of different styles to choose from and sometimes it can be hard to make the final decision and pick just one interior style. That’s why you need to learn how to add style to your home and create the perfect balance between comfort and appearance. Many designers have a few tricks they like to practice and they always follow some basic rules of decorating, which is why the final result is always nice and sophisticated, and what’s even more important - they always come up with a living space that has a great overall design. Here’s how you can do the same too.

Play with plants

Plants are becoming a vital part of interior design and there are many ways you can add them to your home. If you want to display your favorite ones, you can always use a modern vase and a plant holder - anything from concrete models to more sophisticated models made from ceramic - and if you want to do something different, you can use various types of baskets that will add even more style to your home. Start by finding a nice jute or wicker basket, and then just find a huge plant you can put in it. Don’t be afraid to add different plants to your interior just because you don’t know how to take care of them properly, though. Keep in mind that there are many types of plants that are easy to maintain, so make sure to check with local shops that might help you make the right choice.

Add blankets and cushions

If you’re tired of the way your sofa looks or you want to add a bit of color to your living room, find a cozy and beautiful blanket or a throw pillow in order to add style, comfort, and color into the interior. You can place these pieces over the sofa, on the arm panel, or in a basket next to the sofa and you’ll get a massive change straight away. This is a trick lots of designers use to boost the coziness of the living room, but this is also a practical idea because it protects your sofa. Besides that, by placing pillows across the house, you’ll round up the design you’ve worked on in the other parts of your home - from your bedroom to your patio, there’s no wrong place for a pillow or two.

The art of rug layering

This is probably the oldest trick in the book, but it’s also the most effective one out there because you can always play with different shapes and sizes of your favorite rugs. This is especially crucial for those homeowners who don’t have a lot of space in their homes and still want to play with some interesting ways of improving their interior. In addition to that, depending on the color palette you want to add to your interior and how bold you are when adding colors, there are various rugs from Hong Kong that are visually appealing, trendy, and durable, which makes them a perfect solution for your home.

Accessorize everything

You need to look at your home like a blank canvas that’s ready to be dazzled up. Any room in your living space could be transformed with a few accessories here and there, you just need to know how to do it properly. If you have a certain style you’d like to add to your home, choose pieces that represent it and display them around your home. Items like lighting, artwork and travel memorabilia could turn into showstopping pieces that will help you upgrade any room in your home. Don’t be afraid to mix things up a bit, though, and add uncommon things to the room - for example, who would expect an old wine barrel that serves as a coffee table in your living room?

Adding style to your home is a challenging yet inspiring process, and the best thing about it is that you can do things over and over again until you’ve reached the look you’ve always wanted. So, keep introducing new pieces and changing the way your home looks whenever you feel like you need a change!
