Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane continues to be the style leader in launching Spring/Summer collections to the country. Since 2006, the very best local, national and international designers and retailers have been showcased, positioning the Fashion Festival as Queensland’s premier fashion event and cementing Brisbane as a fashion force to be reckoned with.

The fashion industry is all about evolving and so too is the 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane. This year the festival, running from Saturday 25 – Friday 31 August 2012, will be fresher than ever before and will have a fabulous new home in the heart of the city, at Treasury Casino & Hotel.

As always, the focus of the Fashion Festival is on promoting and supporting our local fashion talent. In a tough economic climate, fashion can be seen as superfluous and retailers have been hit hard. It is vitally important that we support our designers and retailers and encourage a stronger economy through consumerism.

Every single piece that hits the runway during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane is available to buy. Unlike Fashion Week, where collections are shown a season ahead, this is a consumer-driven event and directly promotes the local fashion industry by spotlighting new-season collections when they are available in-store.

This generates big business for participating designers and retailers, as fashionistas who love what they see on the runway can hit the boutiques afterwards and shop the collection. The enormous success of the Fashion Festival is evident in the media but more importantly, in the cash register, with designers and retailers reporting increased media interest and sales as a result of their participation. Following the 2011 Fashion Festival, several designers and retailers were thrilled with a massive increase in sales and web traffic, with some even selling out of their collections.

Since fashion is all about the future, we are also proud to support up-and-coming talent with dedicated shows for emerging designers and fashion graduates, giving them the opportunity to show off their collections on the same runway as fashion industry front-runners.

The Fashion Festival’s support goes beyond the fashion industry, with $1 from every ticket sold going to The Courier-Mail Children’s Fund, dedicated to providing funds to help sick and disadvantaged children achieve their full potential.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane, hosted by Treasury Casino & Hotel, makes fashion accessible to anybody, in more ways than one. By showcasing collections that are available in-store, guests can get their hands on their favourite pieces straight away. There’s also a wide range of ticketed and free events on offer, so fashionistas can indulge their sartorial sensors without blowing the shoe budget. And aside from the spectacular Group Shows, guests can attend High Tea sessions, discussion forums and many other special events throughout the week.

Make the most of the hottest week on Queensland’s fashion calendar, grab your friends and nab your seat for these must-attend events. Afterwards, hit the boutiques to stock up on your favourite new-season pieces direct from the runway. It’s the perfect excuse to indulge in some serious retail therapy with the confidence of supporting our local fashion industry, a worthy charity and the satisfaction of owning must-have pieces fresh off the catwalk.
