WORKSTATION

The main language of Fashion still is image. Without the image that reflects the events, the fashion shows and the collections, Fashion is transparent, almost invisible, sometimes unspeakable, it is as if it did not exist.

With the image, the Fashion gains thickness, body and identity. It lives beyond the short life of events, reaches further than the boundaries set by creation, projects our future.

The image of Fashion registered by photography can totally modify our perception of the creation of fashion, leading to it to become a parallel and autonomous art.

This is the reason why ModaLisboa continues to give green light to the photographers invited to WORKSTATION. Because only this artistic freedom allows us to find a different perspective in their works from what we, as amateurs or professionals, witness of the event.

MODALISBOA N.50 invites the photographers Ana Roque Dj Pinho, Arlindo Camacho and Pedro Silva to understand how this photographic language of Fashion has evolved, which for many has become common but keeps on discovering new interpreters, new platforms and new ways of expression.

The most important is not to create one image that is worth more than one thousand words but one image that describes the right word that we all want to hear: Fashion.

The work of our three professionals is showcased outside Pavilhão Carlos Lopes, on March 9th, 10th and 11th. The entrance is free.
