Yorkdale Shopping Centre celebrates 30 years of red carpet style with celebrity photographer George Pimentel, through a curated collection of his iconic red carpet photography over the years
TORONTO, August 16, 2023 – Yorkdale Shopping Centre is unveiling a captivating month-long installation, dedicated to honouring the illustrious career of George Pimentel, one of the industry's most esteemed photographers that has captured iconic style moments over the last 30 years. To commemorate George Pimentel's incredible 30-year journey, and to inaugurate the momentous installation titled “30 years of red carpet style,” Yorkdale Shopping Centre will be hosting a private celebration on September 5th, 2023, from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. The event will be graced by notable industry professionals, esteemed guests, and top-tier media, who will gather to pay tribute to George's remarkable achievements and contributions to the world of photography and celebrity culture.
For 30 years George Pimentel has been shooting the who’s who of Hollywood. Both George and his camera have photographed every major red carpet from the Oscars, Toronto International Film Festival, Cannes, to the Met Gala. The exceptional installations, titled "30 Years of Red Carpet Style," will showcase a curated collection of George Pimentel's iconic red carpet photography, capturing the essence of glamour and allure exuded by the stars over the past three decades. From breathtaking shots of Hollywood A-listers like George Clooney, Jennifer Lopez, and Angelina Jolie, to capturing the enigmatic essence of artists such as Madonna and Lady Gaga this installation promises an extraordinary journey through the world of red carpet elegance. At his home in Toronto, Pimentel has documented the evolving fashion and social celebrity scene. From his humble beginnings in a family run studio in Little Portugal, his work now appears regularly in publications such as, People, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Hello Canada, Toronto Star, Fashion Studio Magazine, and Travelling In Style.

The installation will be open to the public from September 5th - 30th, 2023 during Yorkdale Shopping Centre’s location hours (Mon-Sat:10:00am - 9:00pm, Sun: 11:00am - 7:00pm).
