BEAUTY LIGHTING

With beauty lighting, I try to get my light sources as large as possible. One of the things I say over and over is, the larger your light source is in relationship to your subject, the softer the light. So for beauty lighting, I generally get the modifiers (soft boxes / reflectors) as close to my subject as possible.

SANDRA VON RIEKHOFF: Exclusive Interview

By Eva Fydrych

Sandra

Occupation: Fashion Photographer
City: New York (US) & London (UK)

FASHION STUDIO: How do you feel as a female in the industry dominated by men? Is it easier, more difficult or the gender doesn't really matter?

SANDRA: I think it's mostly down to your energy and weather people like you and you put them at ease. The more relaxed you make the crew feel, I feel the better the results.

FASHION STUDIO: You worked in the fashion industry in London for 15 years. How would you compare it to New York?

POLARIZER FILTERS

Why use POLARIZER filters?

Polarizer filters offer more dramatic results reducing unwanted reflections on glass and water, and enhancing colour saturation for stunning images with brilliant blue skies. When shooting products like watches, or metallic objects, try to rotate your polarizer filter to achieve different results.
