Olivia Palermo is an American socialite, model, and actress born and raised in New York. Often seen seated in the front rows of major fashion shows, Olivia was named one of the best dressed in December 2010. In collaboration with Roberta Freymann, Olivia designed a collection of necklaces.
The 1950's and 1960's Hollywood glamour is her ideal fashion and her source of inspiration. What Olivia says about her style:
"Growing up on the Upper East Side, that's probably where I get it from, seeing all these older ladies who are just so elegant and polished. (...) My best, favourite outfits are things that I have put together in two seconds. When I travel to certain cities, I know what their overall look is so I can adapt. For example, in London I always know to take a leather jacket because things are more edgy. In Paris, having a blue and white striped shirt and a really elegant chiffon dress make one more at ease. Then in New York you are always a bit more polished because we are so work-driven – you just need to have that pulled-together look."
Olivia keeps things interesting by wearing statement-making accessories and by trying several different shapes and lengths, rather than playing it safe in a single silhouette. She is a master at blending inexpensive pieces, high-end designer items, and vintage clothes to establish her sophisticated style.
