HOT TREND: COLOUR BLOCKING

By Eva Fydrych

Colour is the new black! Bold, single block colours are a key look for the Spring/Summer 2011 collections. A lot of designs seen on the catwalk had a very clean cut and super intense eye-popping colour palettes - think vermillion orange, fuschia pink, royal blue, daffodil yellow, purple, and lime green. This season we are going to brighten up our look and wear two or more vivid colours together. Mix colours from the same family or go one step further and use the contrasting ones. This trend is a fresh breeze of inspiration and one of the loudest and boldest catwalk looks. It's all about fun, imagination and creativity. Be brave and adventurous - forget the rules and experiment with your new look.

"The best colour in the whole world is the one that looks good on you!” - C.Chanel

TIPS:
  • Don't wear more than three neon colours together. The look you create should be eye catching and attention grabbing, but not too shocking.
  • Keep your accessories simple and in neutral colours. You don't want to overdue it with too much jewellery.
  • Don't be afraid to use colours that usually don't go together - like pink with red, purple with lime green or orange with yellow. Remember: "The brighter, the better".
