For a few years now, Addition Elle has been making some headway with their company re-branding and more importantly, with the re-branding of plus size clothing in general. There has been this unfortunate belief that plus size clothing cannot and should not be the exact same as its slimmer counterparts. How silly of those who think that. Every woman deserves a great and exciting blouse to pair with a slimming pair of jeans for a hot first date. Or a body beautiful dress for a cocktail party. Or every day wear for her to run errands in. Like any other body type, certain looks work for your figure, others, not so much. This isn’t an issue exclusive to plus size - it’s a universal dilemma.

For spring summer 2015, Addition Elle gave a whole range of clothing to cover up or under cover in for women sizes 12 to 26. Their undergarments are in pretty pinks, cool pale blues and sexy black with supportive bras and barely there lace. Their athletic wear is slim fitting. Rather than blanket the body, it hugs it; better to showcase any shape than no shape at all.

Fitted jeans in regular and coloured denim with a bit of stretch are a great starting point for your outfit. Couple them with their printed blouses or a nautical stripe and you have your perfect cool summer day look.

Slip on one of their chunky, laser cut heels to switch from day to night. Loosely drape their black notch collared jacket on your shoulders over top their aqua lace or Mary Katrantzou-type neoprene dresses. Pair a graphic tee with their black asymmetrical skirt and contrast the two by either wrapping a printed scarf around your neck or adorning it with a statement chunky necklace.

Addition Elle, with every collection, is breathing life back into plus size clothing. It’s a shame it’s taken this long, but better late than never goes the expression.
