DUBAI - Fashion Studio Magazine brings you the best selection of runway looks from Fashion Forward Dubai, one of the fastest growing events in the Middle East.

Hosted bi-annually at Madinat Jumeriah Dubai, FFWD includes numerous catwalk presentations from top regional designers, inspiring talks and panel discussions led by global industry experts and fashion academia, as well as entertainment, through a string of social events and parties.

The event concourse also includes an assortment of accessory designers in the form of The Garden as well as The Fashion Gallery and Fashion Cafe.

Fashion Forward (FFWD) aims to be the definitive fashion platform for the Middle East region – a fashion movement that highlights strengths, inspires and nurtures industry growth and its wealth of talent, with the ultimate goal of driving forward the entire fashion industry in the region.

"You have Paris, you have New York, and you have London, the idea is not really to bring designers or mimic whatever they have there," said Dr. Amina Al Rustamani, group CEO of Tecom. "We are very strong in attracting brands here, but I believe we are also ready and have the right opportunity to also develop global brands from Dubai."

Ahmad Bin Byat, director general of Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority (DTMFZA), added: "Experts estimate that the global fashion industry generates over a trillion dollars a year. With the growing demand for brands and luxury goods across the region as well as the success achieved by local designers internationally, we believe that Dubai is well positioned to enhance its role in the global fashion industry."

Creating that special outlet for local talent is an integral part of Dubai Fashion 2020, a strategic plan that aims to make Dubai a global fashion capital by the end of the decade.
